Horse Log Books and Mastercards
Horse Log Books are compulsory for all entrants in competitive and gated rides. Competitive horses must be registered annually, via the Membership Form.
You can purchase a new Log Book via the SERC Membership Form for £10 (2006/07). A separate charge is made for replacing lost Log Books (see below).
A separate log book is required for each competing horse and should be passed on to any new owners / riders. Log Books may not be amended for use with a different horse.
A horse may have only one Log Book, registered either with SERC, Endurance UK or the Irish Long Distance Riding Association. Any horse / rider found to have / use a duplicate Log Book will face an automatic 90 day ban from competition.
The Log Book must be presented to the Ride Administrator before the start of every competitive ride, on collection of the rider number. A horse will not be allowed to start if the complete Log Book, including a copy of the horse's identification document is not presented.
Lost Log Books can be replaced at a charge of £25 plus £1 per sheet for replacement of lost documentation. It is recommended that members keep copies of their vet sheets to save time and expense in the event of loss. A horse will not be allowed to compete until a replacement Log Book has been obtained.
From October 2005, 5 year old and Novice horses will be issued with a green Mastercard when a Log Book is purchased.
